The skills pathway in the bachelor’s programme Law concludes with Moot Court, in which students experience a ‘toga profession’. Three reality-based assignments are tested summatively: two written legal documents and to plead at the final hearing. Students can practice with oral skills training, written feedback and feedback interviews. In addition, students practice with the VR programme PleitVRij: the student gets a VR headset on and enters a virtual court, where the student communicates with the judge and makes a plea. Fellow students watch via a screen. After the moot court, students give each other feedback using a rubric that is used for the final assessment as well. Using different feedback methods in reality-based assignments, students are being prepared for future employment.
