Programmatic assessment in the master’s programme Medicine
In the master’s programme Medicine, assessment is programme-based, leaving room for student development. Students are not evaluated on one fail, but over a pattern of data points over a longer period of time.
In the master’s programme Medicine, assessment is programme-based, leaving room for student development. Students are not evaluated on one fail, but over a pattern of data points over a longer period of time. Each single data point provides feedback, which students use to work further on their learning objectives. Everything is collected in a digital portfolio. Medical students develop complex skills and competences during clerkships (coschappen) and internships, where they deal with authentic professional situations. At the end of each master year, it is decided whether the standard is met based on the data points in the portfolio. Assessment takes place using holistic assessment criteria.
