In the master’s programme Pedagogical Sciences, students within the Policy and Practice of Educational Innovation course go on a working visit to organisations involved in education (and innovation), for which groups of students write a policy paper. During the lectures, students learn about the relationship between policy and educational practice. They are guided by a teacher, who discusses with students where they are standing, where they need to go and what they need to achieve this. There are also several feedback moments, including peer feedback on policy notes. Feedback is given using a pre-prepared assessment form. Finally, students share their policy note with the assigning organisation. This way of learning and assessment aims at a better connection between theory and practice.
