How students develop into academically trained museum curators

Within the two-year master’s programme in Curating Art and Cultures, students are prepared to become academically trained museum curators. By working closely with the profession, an integration of academic education and preparation for the professional field is achieved. For a year, students work in a museum, under the supervision of an experienced curator, to develop competences formulated by the programme. At the end of the internship, students submit a report in which they reflect on their experiences in practice as museum curators. In it, students describe the tasks performed and their own performance and evaluate the competences developed. In it, students show insight into their own development, which encourages ownership.
