Community Service Learning in the Global Health minor

In the Global Health minor, students build a knowledge base and work on a Community Service Learning (CSL) project proposed by an external partner. In doing so, the challenge-based learning model is applied.

In the Global Health minor, students build a knowledge base and work on a Community Service Learning (CSL) project proposed by an external partner. In doing so, the challenge-based learning model is applied. In CSL, students apply their academic skills to real societal problems. Students are supervised by the same teacher/coach. Summative assessment consists of assessing the knowledge base and the CSL project, both the final product and its creation process. Focusing the assessment largely on the process allows room to develop skills and creates a learning environment where making mistakes is part of the learning process.
