Assistant for course manuals

A design assistant that works from topic, kind of teaching and study load to a complete first draft of a course manual.

Where it lives: On this siteAssistantTeachers

What it is: the assistant Course manual. It asks for the kind of teaching, the topic, the duration, the credits and the rhythm, and builds a first course outline from that: learning outcomes, literature, assessment and a week-by-week plan.

What the Education Lab is testing here: whether generative AI can help bring together the parts that teaching staff normally work out across separate documents. The gain is not only speed but coherence.

Why this is more than text generation

This assistant is interesting as a design experiment. It shows that AI is worth most when it makes patterns and dependencies visible. That makes it a higher-level exploration of curriculum design rather than a writing aid.

Where to go next

The assistant runs on this site. For concrete classes and workshops that can come out of it there is also the collection GenAI classes.
