Civinc

Civinc connects students with different views in a safe environment to exchange perspectives on difficult topics. It builds mutual understanding, without bias, group pressure or social desirability.

Advantages

  • A training ground for perspective exchange
  • Involve everyone, not just the usual suspects
  • Connect different viewpoints and invite real conversations
  • Understand what is on students' minds
  • Works online, hybrid and on campus
  • Afterwards you receive an anonymised data report with an AI analysis of themes and sentiment

Points to note

  • Students join at app.civinc.co with a generic access code; no account or personal data is required
  • Not integrated in Canvas
  • The session itself takes under 30 minutes, but Civinc runs a kick-off meeting and a dry run beforehand
  • Pilot by VU CTL and free for VU teachers; request access through the instructions
